Sons of Ambivalence are a folk-rock / blues-rock, indie band based out
of Richmond, VA. They began playing together in 2016 and spent much of 2017 writing and recording their first album titled “Fallin’ Down”. Their songs combine strong melodic hooks with edgy guitar, mandolin and violin riffs, as well as, ample instrumental breaks to showcase their improvisations in the styles of their blues-rock and new grass roots.

The band’s first album, Fallin’ Down, was released in April of 2018. The sound of this album has been described as folk-rock, alt-rock, and alt-country with a smattering of blues-rock and straight ahead rock and roll.

By late summer of 2018, the band expects to release a more acoustic based EP with some leanings towards folk. They have already done a few stripped down acoustic versions of some songs from their first album that provide the start to this EP titled “Acoustic Folk Sessions”.  Acoustic guitars, piano, mandolin and banjo are present in their harder edged debut album, but will provide an almost exclusive foundation in this summers’ “Acoustic Folk Sessions” EP.
